Outside my professional work, I am active in youth robotics mentorship and nonprofit leadership.
Spartan Robotics
Spartan Robotics is home to FIRST Robotics Competition team 971 and its junior varsity team, 9584. My focus is less on the robot and more on the people: building the leadership structure and culture that let a team keep performing season after season, even as it graduates its most experienced students every year. The work I care about most is developing student leaders who make everyone around them better and leave the team stronger than they found it.
I have been a parent volunteer since 2016, a mentor since 2017, and lead mentor since 2019, helping rebuild the team in the aftermath of COVID.

MV Robotics, founded in 2023, is the 501(c)(3) nonprofit that funds and sustains Spartan Robotics. As president, my focus is the long game: the finances, facilities, and structural investments that let the teams grow year over year, from launching the JV team to expanding what the program can offer. It is the stewardship layer that keeps a volunteer-run organization stable long after any single group of students has moved on.
